Welcome to the SWIMTAG FAQs please feel free to contact the team if you have any other queries.

  • How many Docking Station towers can we run off one POS computer at reception?

You can operate a maximum of 2 Docking Station towers from each POS computer.
  • What happens if a SWIMTAG wristbands goes missing?

To activate a SWIMTAG wristband, a swimmer or a receptionist has to scan/swipe their membership card on the Docking Station reader. This will record the membership ID number, date and time of the swipe and the wristband ID number. If a member leaves without returning their wristband these details will remain on the Docking Station screen for follow up. Additionally the data from the wristband will not upload to the website until the wristband is returned to the Docking Station.
  • How much space does SWIMTAG take up at reception?

A SWIMTAG Docking Station can plug directly into your POS computer via USB. The base of a SWIMTAG tower is 15cm x 15cm so it takes very little desk space. Most pools install Docking Station towers behind the reception however they can go on the top of a reception desk, on a shelf next to reception or even wall mounted on pool side. • Can I buy my own SWIMTAG wristband?

SWIMTAG is currently only available as a full system which is sold directly to pool operators and the wristbands cannot be purchased for individuals. An individual can link a range of compatible smart watches to their SWIMTAG accounts including iWatch and Garmin products.
  • What age groups can use SWIMTAG?

We have a number of swimmers in their 80's and 90's who use SWIMTAG so there is certainly no upper age limit. Children need to be capable of swimming a number of lengths before SWIMTAG will be beneficial to them. We have had children as young as six using it, but it's up to the pools to set their own policy.
  • Do pools charge users for SWIMTAG and if not, how do the pools see a return on investment?

Once SWIMTAG is installed, it's entirely up to the pool who they allow to use it. The vast majority of sites who have SWIMTAG offer it free of charge to members, which encourages more people to join. We have a number of examples and case studies available on request, showing how many new members sites (especially those who offer a swimming only membership) can attract.
  • What type of pools install SWIMTAG?

We have pools from 16m right up to 90m+ lidos. SWIMTAG has been installed by public pools. private clubs, schools and universities. As long as you have people who swim lengths then they'll want to use SWIMTAG!
  • How long is the warranty on SWIMTAG?

All hardware comes with a 12 month warranty covered under our repair and replace policy.
  • Can you help me prepare a business plan for a SWIMTAG installation?

Yes we can! We have helped a number of operators with their business cases. We can provide case studies, references and a whole host of supporting materials.
  • Will SWIMTAG work with our membership system?

Yes, SWIMTAG works with all major club membership card types including Mifare, Barcode or Magswipe. We do not need to connect or interface with your membership database as SWIMTAG is designed to work independently.
  • Some of our members have membership card and some use Technogym keys. Can the system work with both?

Yes, we can install multiple readers for RFID cards and keys, barcode and mag-swipe cards.
  • Do you offer multi-site discounts?

Yes! We offer price breaks on multi-site orders. Get in touch with the team for further details.
  • Hi we have two pools which are different sizes. Will SWIMTAG still work correctly?

Yes SWIMTAG can work in any pool over 16m and the system can handle different size lanes if you have a boom in use during certain lane sessions. We can also automatically schedule configuration changes on the docking station software.
  • What training do you provide with an installation?

During an installation we can run training sessions for your front of house, membership sales and aquatic teams. We also have an extensive video training library available on your operator login.
  • How long does an installation take and do we need to close the pool?

An installation takes between 10 minutes and 1 hour at reception and no pool downtime is required. If you are installing the Docking Station software on your own computers you can download and test the application in advanced of the installation date.
  • Can our swimming coaches access their swimmers data?

Yes, swimming coaches, personal trainers or aquatic advisors can access each of their clients swim data via our operator login
