Data Security
We take the security of both user and operator data very seriously and always aim to handle data with the highest standards. 222 Sports Ltd. is registered with the UK Information Commissioner (Ref. Z280218X) as a data controller. The company is committed to data protection and implementing the latest security best practices, to ensure continuous compliance it has chosen to adopt the processes recommended by the UK Government National Cyber Security Centre as part of the Cyber Essentials accreditation.
The SWIMTAG system has been designed to minimise the handling of personal data to only where is absolutely necessary, the SWIMTAG docking station software does not require a connection to your own membership system and is completely standalone in its operation, only an internet connection is required. The only personal data required is provided by the swimmers themselves when they create their SWIMTAG account.
Whilst logged into your SWIMTAG account all information that passes between our servers and your computer as well as all data transmitted from the SWIMTAG docking station to our servers is securely encrypted over HTTPS, according to industry standard best practice. The strongest encryption algorithms (SHA 256) offered by your browser are prioritised. You can confirm the security of the connection between SWIMTAG and your computer by reviewing the padlock icon in your browser’s address bar.
Our operators and swimmers information is held securely in data centres located in Ireland. These data centres meet the strictest security standards, including ISO 27001, 27017 and 27018 certification, and comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
As well as having a highly available, fault-tolerant database underpinning the application we also implement point-in-time recovery. Daily database snapshots are available should they ever be required. These technical and organisational measures help ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability at all times.
